Woman accused of spitting in soldier’s face (Scroll down to Thursday’s news)
A Syracuse woman was charged after a Fort Drum soldier accused her of spitting on him without provocation at Hancock International Airport, Syracuse police said.
Lauren Maggi, 35, of 256 Thurber St., was charged with second-degree harassment after the Nov. 22 incident, according to a police report.
Jason Jones, 21, told police a woman he did not know walked up to him near the United Airlines ticket counter, asked him if he was a Fort Drum solider and, when he responded that he was, spat in his face.
A second soldier on the scene supported Jones’ accusation, police said. Maggi offered no explanation for her conduct, police said. She could not be reached for comment tonight.
Ms Maggi obviously does not “support the troops”. Though charged with second-degree harassment, I think she should have been charged with assault. Since she’s brave enough to spit on a soldier that can’t strike back, I hope she also welcomes having her name broadcast across the blogosphere. I note the newspaper was kind enough to provide her Syracuse address …

The only good thing is this is not happening on the scale of the Vietnam war. Dispicable behavior and it is legally an assault to spit on someone. It should be a felony to spit on anyone just becaused they served their country.
At the very least, we should be able to sock them!
Too many whack jobs, too little time…

Jason Jones, the Fort Drum soldier, should demand that Maggi be tested for HIV. I hope Maggi gets a great deal of negative mail. Thank you for posting her address.
